A Lightweight 100mm Dropper for XC, Gravel and Short-Travel Trail Bikes.
The FOX Transfer SL Performance Elite is for riders who want the benefits of a dropper post without adding more weight and bulk than their bike needs. It is a simple, light 100mm post that is a good fit for XC bikes, downcountry bikes, gravel bikes and shorter-travel trail bikes.
Unlike a full-length Transfer, the Transfer SL is a two-position post. It locks either fully extended for pedalling or fully dropped for descending. There are no middle positions, which keeps the design light and straightforward.
Both available options offer 100mm of drop, with a choice of 30.9mm or 31.6mm diameter. A remote lever is not included.
Low Weight Where It Matters
The Transfer SL is up to 167g lighter than the full-size FOX Transfer. That is a worthwhile saving on a bike where weight and pedalling efficiency matter, without giving up the ability to get the saddle down for a steep descent, a technical section or simply more room to move on the bike.
A coil spring provides consistent return, while the compact overall length and low insertion requirement help it fit frames where a longer post is not practical.
Built for the Right Type of Riding
This is not a post for riders wanting the biggest possible drop or frequent height changes during a ride. It is for riders who usually pedal with the saddle at full height, then want it properly out of the way when the trail points down.
The two-bolt head supports standard 7mm round rails and 7 x 9mm oval carbon rails.
Before You Order
Check your frame’s seatpost diameter and available insertion depth before ordering.
- 30.9mm x 100mm: Approximately 347g, 80mm minimum insertion, 225mm maximum insertion and 380mm extended length
- 31.6mm x 100mm: Approximately 359g, 80mm minimum insertion, 225mm maximum insertion and 380mm extended length
The Transfer SL is internally routed only. You will also need a compatible remote lever and cable setup, as a remote is not included.
Our Thoughts
The Transfer SL Performance Elite makes a lot of sense on an XC or gravel bike where a full 180mm or 210mm dropper would be unnecessary weight. The 100mm drop is enough to make a noticeable difference when descending, while the two-position design suits riders who prefer a clean, uncomplicated setup.
