The 2018 Stumpjumper Range

The 2018 Stumpjumper Range

on

It's 22° today! With temperatures up, trails open and Daylight Savings starting in just a few weeks, everyone is getting real excited for summer. It's also time for new model year bikes to start showing up. Today, we'll look at the 2018 Stumpjumper range.

There aren't major updates for the Stumpy chassis this year, but there are some good spec refinements, nice colours and a new Coil Carbon model that's super cool.

Tyres - All of the 650b models are coming with the new 2.6" Butchers front and rear, which is super chunky. These 650b Stumpys will be rowdy this year. The 29ers are coming with Buther/Purgatory combo, instead of the Slaughter on the rear. The Slaughter is a love/hate tyre for most people, whereas chunkier Purgatory will be a better overall rear tyre throughout the year.

Pricing - RRP's are down across the board. The Alloy Comp and Carbon Comp are both $300 less than 2017. The S-Works is $500 less. The big news is that the Experts are up $200 for 2018, but you're getting GX Eagle 12-speed and carbon wheels now!

Coil Carbon 29 - A new model for 2018, this model was inspired by EWS racers Jared Graves and Curtis Keene who were often running coils on their race bikes. The Coil Carbon 29 is basically the S-Works frame, an Ohlins coil shock and fork (yep, coil even) and a modest drivetrain spec.

Demo Bikes Available - We have the Comp Carbon 29 in Gallardo Orange above in medium and large already, available for test rides. Stop by the store to take a look.
